Management Team
Elliott Bouillion,
President & CEO: Elliott brings nearly
30 years of entrepreneurial success and operational excellence
across numerous industries to his investment activities, which
range from angel funding and traditional venture capital to
unique, creative private equity arrangements. Bouillion received
a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the
University of Louisiana Lafayette, in 1979. After graduating he
founded Phoenix Computer Graphics, Inc., a manufacturer of
advanced interactive high-resolution raster display controllers,
later sold to Zendex Corporation. In 1984, Elliott joined
Landmark Graphics Corporation, a leading supplier of interactive
computer-aided exploration systems, as a founding member of the
management team. During his twelve-year tenure as corporate Vice
President and General Manager he managed various technology and
service divisions in Houston and London. Landmark completed an
IPO in 1988, experienced revenue growth to over $190 million,
and was later acquired in 1996 by Halliburton. Elliott was a
general partner with Murphree Venture Partners through mid-2008.
Elliott serves as a board member and Past President of the
Houston Private Equity Association (HPEA) and is a founding sponsor
and board member of the Houston Technology Council Energy Program.
He has been an active participant on the board of directors of
several small to mid-size growth companies including FRx Software
(MSFT), Ischemia Corporation (IMA), Anark Corporation, and Object
Reservoir.
In 2007, he began to explore alternative private equity
investments including land resource management and mitigation
banking. His efforts have been dedicated toward providing
responsible stewardship of America’s ecosystems while generating
attractive returns for his partners by investing human and financial
capital in the restoration and preservation of environmentally
sensitive lands to facilitate sustainable economic growth.
Kevin Couhig,
Chief Operating Officer: Kevin is also the Founder, President and CEO of Source Capital, L.L.C. and its affiliated companies. Since inception in 1988, Source Capital has, under Mr. Couhig’s direction, produced outstanding returns for its investors by investing in early stage and growth stage businesses. In addition to managing Source Capital’s equity and mezzanine investments over the past two decades, Mr. Couhig has founded and developed numerous companies including First BIDCO (one of Louisiana’s largest SBA lenders) and Enhanced Capital Partners (a national leader in the CAPCO industry). Mr. Couhig currently serves as Chairman of the Board for PreSonus Audio Electronics, one of Baton Rouge’s Top 100 Private Companies. He was Chairman of the Strategic Options Committee and an Executive Committee Board Member of US Agencies, L.L.C. which was recently sold to Affirmative Holdings, Inc.
Mr. Couhig has extensive community involvement including his recent service as President of the West Feliciana Port Commission. He has been a member of the Board of the Greater Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, the West Feliciana Community Development Foundation and the LSU Business and Technology Center. Early in his career, he served two successive Governors as the Assistant Secretary of Commerce and has served on the economic development transition team of every Governor of Louisiana from 1984 until 2002. In 1985, Mr. Couhig was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Baton Rouge Business Report.
Peter Couhig,
Chief Analytical Officer: Peter began at Source Capital/First BIDCO in 1997 shortly after graduating with a Finance degree from Georgetown University. Mr. Couhig serves as President for all Source-related Companies and is directly responsible for their financial management and reporting. Prior to rejoining Source Capital in 2002, Mr. Couhig served as VP, Portfolio Management for First BIDCO and was responsible for the management of its SBA loan portfolio. Mr. Couhig has an extensive background in the analysis and underwriting of new business opportunities and transactional risk analysis and leads the Company’s due diligence team on new investment opportunities.
Mr. Couhig is an active member of the Baton Rouge community including his role as Chairman of the Baton Rouge Convention & Visitors Bureau. He also serves on the Boards of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber of Commerce and the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge. Mr. Couhig is also on the Advisory Board of Forum 35, the young professionals’ organization of Baton Rouge, where he was on the Board of Directors from 1998 through 2004.
Russ Krauss, Vice President, Business Development: Russ is a member of the company's executive team and is responsible for providing executive leadership and management of inbound and outbound business development and marketing activities including corporate development, transactional business development, corporate and alliance marketing, and funding, offerings and resource management.
Russ has over 24 years experience developing new markets in technical, support, sales, marketing and management roles for technology products and services in the global upstream oil and gas industry with Marathon Oil, Digital Equipment Corporation, Cray Research, and Sun Microsystems. He acquired executive management experience as VP of Marketing with oil industry services and technology providers Knowledge Reservoir, LLC and Object Reservoir Inc.
Russ also served as COO of SCAN USA, a technology services firm for the US law enforcement community and CEO of Greater Sooner Holding, a publicly traded holding company. His expertise includes distribution channel development, leveraged business models and routes to market, organizational design, corporate strategy and operations, marketing, contracting, mergers and acquisitions. Russ holds a Bachelor's Degree in Geology from Boston University and earned an MBA from the Executive MBA Program at the University of Houston.

John B. Elstrott, Ph.D.,
Chairman of the Board: John is also the Chairman of the Board of
Source Capital. In addition to his involvement with RES, Dr. Elstrott is a well-respected entrepreneur and educator. He is a Clinical Professor of Entrepreneurship and the founding director of the Levy-Rosenblum Institute for Entrepreneurship at Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business. Additionally, he currently serves as a Director on many Public, Private and Non-Profit Boards, including, but not limited to, Whole Foods, Fraenkel, Laitram, Danos and Curole, Sambazon, Zehnder Communications, Traditional Medicinals, Regional Technology Strategies, Compass Point Research, PreSonus and Synscia.

Leonard R. Nachman II,
Director: Leonard is also one of the original founders of
RES' parent company, Source Capital. Previously, Mr. Nachman practiced tax law for 30 years, retiring as an attorney and partner at Breazeale, Sachse and Wilson, LLP in 2000. Since 2000, Mr. Nachman, through Wingnut Interests, LLC (a company he founded and co-owned) has operated several Wetland Mitigation Banks in the greater Baton Rouge area. As the owner and manager of this wetland management company, Mr. Nachman oversaw all operations for the Cat Island and Bayou Paul Wetland Mitigation Banks, including regulatory processes, reforestation and financial oversight of the projects. He is a co- owner of Bayou Choctaw Mitigation Area, LLC, one of the original Wetland Mitigation Banks in Louisiana founded in 1997. Mr. Nachman is also a former Chair of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, the Research Park Corporation and Louisiana Technology Park.
Aaron Patsch, CFA joined Resource Land Holdings in 1998 and has been active in all aspects of its operations. He became a principal in the firm in January 2002. Mr. Patsch is a CFA charter holder and is a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research. He graduated with honors from Wheaton College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Economics.

Sales and Marketing
Kate Wilson, Credit Sales Executive: Kate is a graduate of The University of Mississippi and is originally from Vicksburg, MS. For RES, Kate facilitates the sales of compensatory wetland mitigation credits to local developers and municipalities.
Her previous experience is in customer service and sales including over 3 years in the incentive travel industry with Maritz Travel. Before joining RES, Kate was an Account Executive for 225 Magazine.
Frank Savoy, Sales and Marketing Administrator:: Frank supports the company’s growth as the sales administrator. Frank joins RES after a successful experience in the hotel and restaurant management industry where he was lastly General Manager, Sullivan’s Steakhouse. Frank is a certified Wine Sommelier, has attended the Louisiana State University and is active in the Baton Rouge community.
Acquisitions
Fitz Couhig, Market Manager: Fitz graduated the Louisiana State University in 2002 with a BS in Information Systems and Decision Systems followed up with a successful career in account management at a web-based software firm, VoterVOICE, LLC. At RES, Fitz is responsible for seeking opportunities to expand the company’s land holdings and enable the mitigation process for newly acquired lands. Before RES, Fitz has been an outdoor leader, taking 18 to 68 year old travelers on guided trips of the National Parks of America, where he was responsible for the management and safety of the group, stimulating an environment of teamwork and cooperation and helping people learn about nature and conservation. Fitz is a licensed real estate agent in Louisiana and a member of the Louisiana Wildlife Federation, Louisiana Coastal Conservation Association and the National Parks Conservation Association.
David Hill, Market Manager: David joined RES after serving as a Summer Intern focused on RES field operations while at the Louisiana State University. Following graduation in 2009 with a BS in Agricultural Economics, David, a Baton Rouge native, joined the Acquisitions team where he manages the development of new mitigation markets including prioritizing and recommending land acquisitions or joint ventures for mitigation projects. David is also a licensed Louisiana real estate agent.
Ecological Restoration Services
Daniel Bollich, Vice President of Ecological Resources: Daniel Bollich obtained a Bachelor of Science Degrees in Wildlife and Fisheries and Forestry with minors in Zoology and Botany from Louisiana State University in 1996 and received a Masters of Natural Science with a major in geography and minor in Coastal Science from LSU in 2001. His background and work experience has included forest management, wildlife management and ecology, educational programs, environmental regulation, wetlands ecology and restoration, remote sensing and geographical information systems. Mr. Bollich is a Registered Forester in Arkansas and Mississippi, a Practicing Wetland Scientist, and an Associated Wildlife Biologist. He has worked for various government and private natural resource organizations prior to his association with RES. From 1998 to 2007, Mr. Bollich was a consultant with C-K Associates in Baton Rouge, where he was primarily responsible for wetland delineations, restoration, the establishment of wetlands mitigation banks, development of onsite mitigation plans, threatened and endangered species surveys, natural resource and biological assessments, wetland and endangered species surveys, and supporting services for various environmental permitting including Section 404 and Coastal Use Permitting.
Bert Laprarie, Sr. GIS Analyst: Bert Laprarie has over 22 years experience in environmental and natural resource-based geographical information systems. His background and work experience have included GIS, remote sensing and cartographical services within the environmental and natural resource field including state and federal wetlands permitting, coastal regulatory permitting, wetlands delineation, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects, farm management, utilities survey, land change analysis in coastal environments, beneficial dredge disposal siting analysis, site selection, various landfill designs, and RTK survey for digital elevation modeling (DEM). Mr. Laprarie has over 20 years experience using advanced Autodesk AutoCAD software, 10 years experience using vector and raster-based GIS such as ESRI Arcview software and Lieca Imagine, and 10 years experience with survey and map grade Trimble GPS data collection systems and associated software such as TerraSync and Pathfinder Office. Mr. Laprarie recently conducted training classes for various governmental agencies to integrate and use ESRI ArcPad software and Trimble-based GPS units for data collection.
Environmental Restoration Services
Ronald Gremillion, Vice President of Land Management: Ronald Gremillion has 10 years of experience in wetland mitigation management, a history which few others possess in such a new industry. He is knowledgeable about all areas of land and wetland mitigation management, including land preparation, construction, reforestation, and ongoing maintenance. For RES, Mr. Gremillion oversees construction, ongoing maintenance and surface rights management services, including farming leases and hunting lease management services. Previously, Mr. Gremillion was a successful Louisiana farmer for 17 years, raising corn, cotton, soybean, milo and cattle. Knowledgeable about land management, Mr. Gremillion has sucessfully managed several wetland mitigation banks, including West Bayou Jack, East Bayou Jack, Bayou Pelton, consisting of approximately 180 acres in Terrebonne Parish, which is part of the Louisiana coastal zone; and Bayou Grand Couteau, consisting of approximately 180 acres in La Fourche Parish.
Glenn Gremillion,
Supervisor of Field Operations: Glenn's responsibilities
include wetland restoration, construction and maintenance. Glenn
assists in the evaluation of property and restoration planning.
He is an on-site supervisor of work crews and supports the
operation and maintenance of mechanized field equipment. Glenn
has over 18 years of farming experience in Louisiana. He has
owned several businesses including C&G remodeling and Gremillion
Heavy Maintenance and Welding Shop and is experienced in heavy
equipment operation and maintenance. Previously Glen worked as a
foreman and salesman for National and International Sign
Company. He is also a licensed real estate agent and a certified
electrician.
Zach Gullett,
Equipment Operator: Zach is responsible for the safe
operation and maintenance of mechanized field equipment. Zach as
over six years experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator in
Highline construction.
Bubba Laborde,
Supervisor of Field Operations:
Bubba's responsibilities
include wetland restoration, construction and maintenance. Bubba
assists in the evaluation of property and restoration planning.
He is an on-site supervisor of work crews and supports the
operation and maintenance of mechanized field equipment. Bubba
has a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Business from University
of South Louisiana. He served two years in the United States
Army and has 30 years of experience as a grain, cotton and rice
farmer and heavy equipment operator.
Coastal Restoration and Nursery Operations
Aaron Pierce,
Nursery Operations and Coastal Louisiana Business Development. Aaron is responsible for RES’ marsh grass nursery and supports all other plant and soil science activities involved in restoring wetlands. Aaron holds a Masters in Oceanography from LSU and a BS in Agriculture Business from Louisiana Tech University. A 100-Ton Masters Captain, he has also owned and operated his own hunting and fishing guide service for over 10 years.
Finance and Administration
Christopher Elliott, CPA, Chief Financial Officer: Chris Elliott is the Chief Financial Officer of Resource Environmental Solutions and its affiliated company, Source Capital. Mr. Elliott has more than 10 years public and private accounting experience, including two years in commercial auditing and eight years in financial management. Before joining RES, Mr. Elliott was the Controller and CFO for Desselle-Maggard, an industrial products distributor. Mr. Elliott has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 2000. His professional affiliations include the Society of Louisiana CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.
Jan Hill,
Administrative Assistant: Jan has served as Administrative Assistant to Source Capital and later RES since 2006. She is responsible for RES’ day-to-day office and operations administration and support. Jan has a background in teaching throughout the Baton Rouge area and holds a BS in Elementary Education from LSU.
